Interests:
My interests within biology are rather broad. Currently, I am focusing on phytoplankton dynamics within the Hudson River Plume as part of the Lagrangian Transport & Transformation Experiment (LaTTE). I appreciate large scale ecosystem dynamics especially with regards to plankton communities. In the past, I have dabbled in genetics, molecular biology, and ornithology. My senior thesis as an undergraduate was on the tropical deciduous forest of Southern Sonora, Mexico and I concentrated in field studies with mammals and birds. In my spare time, I manage a cooperative living house of 19 people, where I’m fascinated by community structures and dynamics (It’s a lot like phytoplankton).
