Research Interests:
- Molecular effects of ultraviolet radiation on development of marine invertebrates.
- Diversity of and protective mechanisms of natural sunscreens, mycosporine-like amino acids in marine invertebrates.
- Identification and quantification of MAAs in corals from America Samoa in an attempt to identify the best placement of Marine Protected Areas in relationship to natural resilience to UVR.
