Jessica Connolly

Interests:

My interests span several areas of oceanography with a focus on phytoplankton biology. Specifically, I am interested in the ecology and evolution of diatoms with respect to their genome structure. My thesis research examines the scope of phenotypic variation across diatom species, using the comparative method to test hypotheses of correlated evolution. I am focusing on the variation in diatom genome size and the corresponding phenotypic effects in unicellular organisms.
